You have your degree – but there’s one more hurdle.
After receiving your degree, pre-licensed therapists must complete clinical supervision before obtaining clinical licensure.
This supervision involves working with a licensed therapist who will mentor you on the tools necessary to become an effective therapist. Your mentor provides guidance and support as you work toward your license.
Working with your supervisor is when you practice what you learned in your courses. Think of it as a time to receive training and feedback.
Clinical supervision also equips you to become a more effective therapist who can address the professional and personal challenges that come with the job.
Even licensed therapists need a fresh point of view.
Being an effective therapist requires staying up to date with various therapeutic modalities, learning how to run a business, and providing clients with the best service. Working alone is challenging! Seeking supervision provides you with access to a positive and professional assessment.
Self-care is essential to a therapist. Supervision by a more experienced therapist provides support and opportunities to hone one’s skills, discuss therapeutic approaches and problems, and learn how to deal with burnout.
An experienced supervisor can provide helpful guidance and commentary on your skills, decision-making, and how you deal with clients.
Let me provide the supervision you want.
I offer clinical supervision for licensure to clinicians working toward clinical licensure (LCSW) or a licensed therapist who wants ongoing clinical support. During clinical supervision, you can expect to receive case conceptualization, review, improve clinical skills, learn new ways to provide client support, and much more.
For over 25 years, I have worked as a social worker and therapist. I have done direct care with at-risk youth, families, couples, individuals, and addictions throughout this time.
In addition, my work as an administrator added depth and breadth in program development and budget management. I also have the experience and skills to assist you with furthering your knowledge in the field and help you gain what you need to take your career to the next level.
